Venue Tour 2020: Longacre House

When choosing where to stop for this years venue tours I wanted to pick locations that hosted both large parties and the special spaces that accommodate the more intimate gatherings.

The Longacre house by no means is a small location, but its layout and arrangement of each space lends itself to hosting AMAZING events that gives you an intimate "we've rented the whole house" type of feeling.

The outdoor space that the house has makes a perfect location for an outdoor ceremony. The grounds surrounding the house is full of beautiful tree lines and gardens for photos.

With COVID currently preventing indoor events, when I visited the house of course the spaces were cleared, but I LOVE seeing venues in their most blank canvas state.

I adored this room because I can envision a warm and intimate gathering with friends and family dancing around the fireplace ( safely of course) enjoying their cocktails and celebrating in this new adventure. So much of the time we search out spaces that have soaring ceilings and expanisive negative space between the party and the structure. One thing that Iwas actually attracted to in this space was it cozy ceiling height in combination of its historic charm.

One of the coolest parts of this venue is that it has a variety of different rooms that give couples the opportunity to spread out all of the different wedding elements. While having a large open space is more of a traditional layout, there is something so much more personal when a couple has a venue that allows for vignette design in each space. It is like giving your guests an opportunity to walk through a museum versus booth to booth when setting up banquet style tables. I mean look at this room in this photo? Can't you imagine amazing dress, or groomsmen or any type of photo being captured here?

My two favorite extra spaces are the library and then this additional light, bright, and beautiful space that normally hosts cocktail hour, the cake, photobooths, buffets and some of the other additional aspects that couples bring to the party.

ALL of the spaces here at the Longacre House are full of historic charm and incredible details that would make any celebration of love.....Instantly A classic.

Venue Tour 2020: St. John Inn - Plymouth

SO.... the is the first stop on my venue tour, The St. John INN! 202o has been one hell of a weird year so that means my tour has been no different! Normally by the middle of the summer I have already been to a few places, but this year my tour was postponed. However, it hasn't stopped me from visiting as many places as possible now ( safely of course ) so that I can continue to refer my couples to the venue that fits their vision!
Let's get started!

So Megan and I went to the INN together this summer. Roughly a 35 minute drive from where I am located here in Metro Detroit and worth EVERY STICKEN MILE! I am so excited to have clients that are already booked at this beautiful location.

When you pull up your welcomed by a very beautifully ornate threshold ( Y'all know how much I love a beautiful door) and what's beyond it is just as stunning!

When you come into the Lobby you're greeted by a reception desk and two hallways and the chapel sits right in front of you ( STUNNING as well). We were greeted by Linda, who is the Executive Special Events Manager at the Inn. The inn is also... an INN lol so guests can stay right at the venue. THIS IS an amazing bonus, I cannot even tell you how much easier that makes life. There is also a golf course which is a wonderful activity to make a weekend out of your stay!

One thing that I loved about this venue is that it had SO MUCH SPACE! Each room we went in there was just more and more space. When you book with their different rooms your'e getting a ton of square footage and with some, even additional rooms that are detached. This is important, as we navigate Covid and eventually get back to doing indoor events, having the space to spread out is VITAL!
*AT this time the INN is not hosting outdoor events.

This space above....YES you guessed it is the beautiful courtyard. I am so lucky to have a couple using this space. We have so much opportunity to make it their own but honestly....it's stunning even without much added.

Their wedding is in December and I think that, especially with the beautiful installation of holiday decor that St. John already does, their vision of a romantically lit space will easily come to fruition.

This space accommodates round and banquet style tables perfectly which I really think is a stunning spatial layout, not to mention you have a ton of great options for where and how to do all of the amazing things on your list.

I really am drawn to that type of backyard, bistro, outdoors concept for events. This space allows for all of that BUT ALSO gives you the security of being indoors (no rain worries WOOP WOOP). The natural light during early parts of the event shines in and creates this welcoming atmosphere, and at night the lantern artificial light ( in combination with bistro ) shines on the variety of architectural details that makes this space one of a kind.

Thank you to Linda, who took the time out of her busy day to walk us through the space, for having us. You were was so accommodating and treated us with outstanding hospitality. This assures me that you and your team go above and beyond for your couples.
